Leaving Saint-Rémy, we cycled through Tarascon and Beaucaire, on either side of the Rhône, and then to the Pont du Gard. As a change from cycling, we floated down a portion of the Rhône in plastic kayaks (not very maneuverable) under the Pont du Gard. We then rode in the van to our overnight stay in Uzès, a charming town, with a castle still occupied by its Duke and Duchess. Our hotel, Hostellerie Provençale, had a delightful, eclectic mix of furnishings as well as delicious cuisine.
