Paris (page 2)

May-June 2015

After the bicycle tour, we returned to Paris, staying in a residential neighborhood in the 5th Arrondissement on the Left Bank. We toured the recently reopened Musée Picasso, visited friends in Vincennes, took the train to Fontainebleau (lovely, but the interior was crowded with group of elementary school children), and spent lots of time walking around Paris. Le Musée du service de Santé des Armées, with its exhibits of World War I medical treatments, while a tribute to the extraordinary medical personnel, is an indictment against war and its human disfigurement and destruction.

Having had fabulous French food in Provence, we enjoyed a change with Moroccan and Vietnamese cuisine, though returned to the French for our last dinner in Paris, at a bistro near our hotel.
