Taormina

May 2016

Taormina may have been a quaint hill town overlooking the sea at one point, but today its streets are filled with tourists and shops. Resorts are on the seaside, but we stayed on the hill, visiting the Teatro Greco, revamped by the Romans. The setting is stunning, though clouds blocked a clear view of Mt. Etna. The current municipal building, with three Stars of David on its facade, is on Via Ibrahim in the Giudecca (Jewish Quarter).
