Agrigento and

Piazza Armerina

May 2016

We visited several of the Greek temples built between 510 and 430 BCE in the Valley of the Temples, just outside the modern-day city of Agrigento. Girgentana (derived from the Sicilian for Agrigento) goats are protected at the site and are also found on the grounds of Vecchia Masseria, the agriturismo where we stayed for a night. We enjoyed an afternoon walk on paths through the Mount Ganzaria preserve.
