Honduran Villages
Copán Ruinas, the town near the excavated site, was part of the original Mayan empire.
We rode horses to La Pintada, a village of about 200 people. The houses are of adobe or stick construction; the children now have schools and family sizes are decreasing. NGOs have constructed a concrete building where residents are taught crafts.
