On a hill above Prague, the castle comprises many buildings, with varied architectural styles. Most prominent is the gothic St. Vitus Cathedral, but there are also small houses on Golden Lane, once inhabited by goldsmiths and alchemists (Franz Kafka lived in his sister’s tiny house for about a year) as well as gardens, palatial residences, a monastery, and a dungeon.
