We were in Cusco for Independence Day celebrations, though missed most of the festivities as we toured Inca sites outside of the city. We also attended a performance of traditional dances at the Centro Qosqo de Arte Nativo, an institution dedicated to preserving the native music and dance. I recorded one performance (about 7 minutes), the Llama Dance. We stayed at the Del Prado Inn, just off the Plaza de Armas. By ourselves, we toured Santo Domingo church, built in the 17th century atop and incorporating the Qoricancha Temple (Temple of the Sun) ruins.
