Our tour went from Arequipa through the Aguada Blanca National Vicuña Reserve and on to the Colca Canyon, stopping overnight at the Colca Lodge, in a beautiful setting along the Colca River, with thermal baths heated by volcanic water (80 degrees Celsius) channeled to pools of more moderate temperatures. Early the next morning we set out to watch condors soar on thermal updrafts from the canyon. Both days we stopped at villages in the canyon.
