Vicenza

After flying to Venice, we took a train to Vicenza, a delightful mid-sized city with grand Palladian architecture. From humble beginnings as a stonecutter, Andrea Palladio grew to be one of the most influential architects in the Renaissance. To complement these classical gems, the city hosted a year-long exhibit (opening just as we arrived) of surrealist, monumental sculpture and jewelry by Salvador Dali.
