Venice

We took a train from Treviso to Venice, then walked quickly to arrive on time for our scheduled visit to the top of T Fondaco dei Tedeschi, a department store, which allows free, but reserved, access to its rooftop, where one can enjoy a 360-degree view of Venice. Later we met a local guide, Caterina Nardin, for an insider’s tour of the city. While we visited some of the crowded tourist areas, like St. Mark’s Square, we also walked to slightly quieter, more residential areas of the city. On our own, we went to the Ghetto where we toured the Jewish Museum and synagogues. We took a water taxi through the Grand Canal to the Lido, where we stayed for two nights.
