Dolomites 2

Leaving Cortina, we biked about 48 miles to Belluno. En route, we stopped in Pieve di Cadore, where Titian was born. Part of the route was on a very busy road, not what we bargained for! The next day’s 35-mile ride took us to Valdobbiadene, stopping in Mel for chocolate and, farther on, for a cheese tasting at Lattebusche in Cesiomaggiore. We ended the day with a Prosecco wine tasting and dinner in Valdobbiadene. The following day we rode from Valdobbiabene to Treviso. En route we stopped at Villa Barbaro (Villa di Maser), another of Palladio’s masterpieces. Treviso has been described as a quieter alternative to Venice, though we were not overly impressed. Of note were the cartoons painted on shop windows as advertisements for the upcoming Treviso Comic Book Festival.
