Wellington

February 2016

Wellington is a small but vibrant capital city. We visited the Parliament Building and learned about the unique New Zealand parliamentary system. Adding to our understanding of the history and culture of New Zealand were exhibits in honor of those who fought in World War I, as well as a varied array of artwork at Te Papa Tongarewa Museum and sculptures around the harbor and the Central Business District. In the hills is Zealandia, an extensive preserve; photos of its birds and a few amphibians are on the Birds page.
