Zip-Lining at Navitat

Zip-Lining at Navitat

Dan, Sandy, Marshall, and Heidi took a canopy tour at Navitat, about 20 miles north of Asheville. It was great fun! Most of these photos are Dan’s and Heidi’s--Sandy was somewhat shaky at the start, but soon got into the rhythm, taking a few photos. As you can see from the photos and the video, we were securely harnessed, with plenty of safety carabiners. The longest lines were more than 1,000 feet, though each zip took less than a minute. At times we were more than 200 feet above the valley floor; the highest platform, about 55 feet above ground level. Our guides, Lyman and Rob, were always reassuring. As Navitat says, “a canopy tour is more about forward movement , experiencing the environment in a new and different way.” Watch Heidi’s video to see us zipping.
