Virginia

May 2011

Leaving Asheville, we drove along the Blue Ridge Parkway, stopping for a walk at Craggy Gardens and a view of the mountain and valley at Green Knob. Finding the driving very slow and the weather overcast, we returned to the interstate and went on to Blacksburg, Virginia to see Uri and Etty. We hiked in the Jefferson National Forest, around Pandapas Pond and on the Poverty Creek Trail. We also met the Virginia Tech professor who will be our guide when we travel to Peru. Departing Blacksburg, we spent about five hours at James Madison’s Montpelier, en route to the Washington , D.C. area.
