Day 2: A short taxi ride from Machico took us to the São Lourenco Pensinsula Nature Reserve car park where our day’s walk began and ended. The path is well marked and mostly well maintained. The initial downhill section leads to a series of climbs and ridges that offer magnificent views to both south and north. At the far end of the walk, we looped back around before picking up the same path again. We took the option of making the final ascent at the very far end up to Moro de Ferado, giving us views of headland and beyond.
