Dublin

Dublin was crowded with tourists, mostly Americans. We walked many miles in Dublin, taking cover as much as possible on the shady sides of streets. Nevertheless, with two weeks in a nearly cloudless Ireland, we returned home well tanned. We visited museums and libraries: The Chester Beatty Library; Trinity College and the Book of Kells; Kilmainham Gaol; Irish Museum of Modern Art; National Gallery of Ireland; National Museum of Ireland; and the National Library of Ireland, with an exhibit about W. B. Yeats. We enjoyed the modern street murals, collectively known as “The Grey Area Project,” but apparently complaints have led the City Council to order the removal of the murals. The controversy continues.
