First stop on our tour of the Alsace was Strasbourg, site of the European Parliament, a large medical complex, a grand cathedral, Alsatian houses along the Ill River, and much more. We spent each day walking many miles within the city. We stayed at Le Grand Hotel, near the train station and well situated for walking to the center of the old town and out to more modern areas. We took an audio tour of the city (provided by the tourist office), another audio tour of the historical museum, and climbed the Cathedral Notre Dame.
