Colmar

September 2017

We enjoyed time in the Unterlinden Museum, looking at and listening to commentary about the Isenheim Altarpiece, with its multiple sections. The museum itself is very large, encompassing a cloister; an expansion goes under a plaza and a canal to a new wing, at this time showcasing an exhibit of photographs, sculpture, and graphic art by Russian Alexandre Rodtchenko. The Colmar Market Hall has numerous stalls with wines, cheeses, breads, pastries, meat, etc. We stayed at the simple, modern Colmar Hotel, close to the train station.
