Santiago is a busy, modern city with roads crisscrossing high-rise neighborhoods between the Andes and the Chilean Coast Range. Because the city is essentially in the center of the country, we flew in and out of its airport hub on our way to Easter Island, the Atacama Desert, and Patagonia, staying a total of six nights at the Cumbres Vitacura Hotel.
