Ronda

We had another driving adventure through the old, narrow streets, and then descending to the hotel (Alavera de los Baños), where we were fortunate to find the last parking space in front of the Arab Baths. Ronda is situated on two sides of a deep gorge (site of brutal execution of Fascists), surrounded by fertile plains and distant mountains. Most tourists stick to the top of the gorge, but we headed down as well, both walking a path on one side and climbing down (and up) the steps to the water mine, “La Casa Del Rey Moro,” for different views. Ronda is also home to the oldest bullring in Spain. We were too late in the season for bullfights, but we did tour the ring and museum.
