Lisbon
We had a 9-hour layover in Lisbon; friends graciously picked us up at the airport, gave us breakfast of luscious Portuguese pastries, and took us to the river for several hours. October 5 is Republic Day, with festivities around the City Hall as well as a marathon. This was a delightful bonus to our trip to Andalucía, Spain.
